ABOUT THE ROLE

Candidate needs to have excellent interpersonal skills, working as part of a team and able to work in a fast paced environment. Provide excellent customer service by engaging employees and visitors in a professional and friendly manner. Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows and MS Office as well as able to comfortably navigate and interface with point of sale systems to complete transactions. Operates weigh scales and front end systems accurately according to Amrize policies. Act as key person in communicating with and receiving feedback from truck drivers on topics of safety, logistics and service. Assist in various administration tasks as directed by management team. This will be a seasonal position working from approximately May 2026 until October/November 2026.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Promote a culture of safety with an objective of “zero” incidents.
  • Engage in daily safety communication activities (ie: Huddles, Spot Truck Safety Audits, Daily Safety Messages, etc…) with management, employees and visitors.
  • Ensure that scale house and surrounding area is kept safe, presentable and functional.
  • Provide assistance via phone or face-to-face contact with visitors.
  • Follow the dispatch daily checklist to identify, record, and communicate changes to the dispatchers.
  • Operate the Apex system to check/tare in trucks and produce weigh-bills/tickets accurately and timely.
  • Ensure that weight restrictions are abided by (ie: no overloads).
  • Collect monies for cash sales and reconciles against register as prescribed by control procedures.
  • Administer resale ticket entry and receipts in enterprise system to meet established KPIs.
  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports as prescribed by Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Work Experience: 1-3 year preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with MS Office, SAP, and APEX are considered assets.
  • Interpersonal: Ability to treat customers, haulers and co-workers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Reliability: Showing up on time at the location(s) and time(s) scheduled by supervisor.

 

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidate must be flexible to work early mornings, or afternoons and on-call for weekend work as well as extended hours for vacation coverage.
  • 5% travel requirements.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
