ABOUT THE ROLE
Duro-Last, a Division of Holcim Solutions and Products US, LLC, has an opening for a Process Engineer at 
our Corporate Headquarters located in Saginaw, Michigan or Oscoda, Michigan. The ideal candidate’s 
primary responsibility will be to assist with setting up, starting up, monitoring, and maintaining the 
extrusion operations while helping to perform minor maintenance on the lines. The goal will be to keep 
the extrusion lines running continuously and efficiently while producing a product that meets or exceeds 
our customers’ expectations.


WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Set up and Start-up extruders
• Install dies using hand and power tools, assist with screw and barrel cleanings
• Regulate vacuum, air pressure, calibrators and temperature and synchronize the extruder’s 
speed to produce a quality product
• Adjust speed, temperature and raw material flow to produce a quality product within 
specifications
• Examine the product for defects and correct them
• Measure the product to ensure it is within specifications
• Notify Management/Supervisor/Quality of any safety, quality or equipment issues
• Complete reports, monitor running conditions and assist with troubleshooting issues


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Knowledge of extrusion processes
• Mechanical aptitude
• Work an eight-hour-plus shift
• Working knowledge of Word, Power Point, Excel and cloud-based software
• Regular attendance, timeliness, some travel and scheduling flexibility
• Bachelors of Engineering Science, focusing on Plastics or 10 years of hands-on experience

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Prolonged standing or in a stationary position
• Exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as (Hearing, vision and safety shoe 
protection)
• Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
• Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
• Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders
• Ability to work around dust, chemicals and other substances and in various environmental 
conditions
