ABOUT THE ROLE
The Major Market Manager for Greater Seattle Cement is expected to manage, develop and execute a Business Strategy for major accounts in a designated territory of Western Washington. The Major Market Manager will achieve sales objectives by building and cultivating strong customer relationships, understanding and driving market dynamics and creating pipeline and commercial opportunities within his/her market. The Major Market Manager is responsible to provide a best in class service to Amrize customers by working closely with technical support and supply chain and by fostering a culture of continuous sales effectiveness improvement.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Execute commercial strategic initiatives and develop individual account plans in close collaboration with the General Manager of Sales, following clear account plan strategies for the assigned portfolio.
- Ensure structured customer visits, contact frequency, and follow-up, with close analysis of portfolio sales activities to achieve or exceed sales targets.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing customers while establishing new relationships to achieve sales objectives, maintaining close contact to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and interacting with key customer decision-makers to influence the selection of Amrize Cement.
- Represent Amrize externally as a high-quality supplier and responsible corporate citizen by building and maintaining industry and association relationships and professionally participating in industry organizations.
- Implement commercial initiatives and achieve assigned sales targets, driving revenue growth, margin improvement, and enhanced collections through pricing optimization, quality improvements, demand flexibility, and logistics/material synergies.
- Define, monitor, and adjust pricing for the assigned customer group and contribute to annual revenue, volume, and profit budgets by analyzing results and forecasting monthly to deliver financial commitments.
- Build effective monthly sales forecasts and assess backlog versus prior periods to evaluate risk and probability of meeting targets by managing sales tools and project pipelines to ensure all opportunities are quoted, tracked, and followed up.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of daily activities within the CRM system.
- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of market dynamics, competitive intelligence, products, and industry trends, and analyze competition and market share to drive differentiation of Amrize as the supplier of choice through value-based selling and positioning.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: University degree.
Field of Study Preferred: Business, engineering, or related field of study.
Required Work Experience: at least 10 years of sales experience, preferably in cement, ready-mix or precast industry.
Required Training/Certifications: standard driver’s license and good driving record.
Required Technical Skills: MS Office, Google Suite.
Travel Requirements: 60% in the greater Seattle area.
Additional Requirements:
- Deep understanding of the cement or construction materials market.
- Strong relational skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Can influence without authority and possesses managerial courage.
- Pro-active, organize and results oriented self-starter with high level of energy and drive.
- Solid financial understanding of financial statements.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
