ABOUT THE ROLE
We are a fast paced production environment seeking Utility Operators to join our team. The Utility Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining various equipment to ensure the efficient and safe operation of utility systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating equipment, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine maintenance tasks. Multi-tasking and juggling priorities is a daily routine and with that comes a need for sound judgment.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Operate a loader / backhoe / skidsteer safely and efficiently
- Complete groundwork / labour
- Understand road construction best practices, grades, overall construction awareness
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping
- Assist with other duties as required from time to time
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
- Monitor utility consumption and make adjustments to optimize efficiency.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience: Previous experience operating utility systems preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Willing to learn and take directionDoing the security for the facility property location
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies
- Possess good interpersonal and communications skills to deal effectively with suppliers, clients, co‐workers and management
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
