ABOUT THE ROLE

The main objectives of this role are to administer and coordinate the activities of the mechanical, electrical, and mobile equipment maintenance activities. A primary objective is to improve the value of all Company assets at the St-Constant plant through increased reliability and lower operating costs while allowing the safe operation of the equipment to meet production requirements within budget guidelines. As part of the plant management team, the incumbent also has a contribution regarding the establishment of plant policies and procedures concerning the maintenance department and general operations.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Follows and ensures full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all contracts and project site meet the safety policy requirements for our employee’s safety.
  • Coordinate the preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance of all plant and infrastructure equipment.
  • Plans maintenance activities in a way that is compatible with the overall operation of the plant.
  • Embrace RCA process and actively drive and promote it within the department and plant.
  • Set objectives, guidelines and priorities for the department.
  • Provide cost budgeting, cost forecasting and control of department expenditures.
  • Responsible for plant sustaining capital projects management (Justification, Engineering support, Procurement, Cost Control, etc.).
  • Ensure the competence and development of department employees (hourly and salaried).
  • Establishes the environment as a priority and ensures all local and provincial and federal regulations are met or exceeded.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: B.S. degree in engineering.
  • Field of Study Preferred: mechanical, electrical, industrial or similar.
  • Required Work Experience: 7 to 10 years.
  • Required Technical Skills: Heavy industry equipment experience (mobile equipment, rotary kilns, mills, conveyors, crushers, cooling towers, dust collectors, etc.) strong computer literacy with various software programs (including Maintenance specific), Microsoft suite.
  • Travel Requirements: 10%.

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent planning skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Knowledge of RCA.
  • Good project management skills and experience.
  • Cement operating experience (would be an asset).
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
