ABOUT THE ROLE

The Process Engineer, New Graduate is responsible for the operational improvements of all aspects of the plant production and for the computer applications to process controls.

 

The Process Engineer, New Graduate will also be a part of the Holcim US Build4Growth Program. This is an extensive, 14-month cement manufacturing learning and development program designed to provide new graduate engineers with foundational knowledge and experience on the main operational areas of our cement plants. This program is built on a blended learning approach including online learning, face-to-face sessions, on-the-job assignments, and projects.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Analyze operations of the Plant and make recommendations for process improvement including Cost/Benefit Analysis.
  • Develop process control automation and computer applications for process control.
  • Prepare computer reports on the process of operating efficiencies and failure investigation tests.
  • Perform tests on operating plant systems to determine the efficiencies of the equipment.
  • Provide assistance to management in maintain the Plant within environmental and quality performance regulations.
  • Training shift supervisors for SAP reporting and TIS.
  • Responsible for New System Implementation (eg. TIS).
  • Perform ISO Audits and involved with Month End activity reporting.
  • Self-starter/ highly motivated team player.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education:  Bachelor's degree. 

Field of Study Preferred:  Chemical Engineering. 

Required Work Experience:  0-3 years 

Required Computer and Software Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) 

Travel Requirements:  0 - 15%

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
