ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a General Laborer in our Asphalt division at our Waldorf, Md plant location.The  general laborer is responsible for for performing general labor duties at the plant, including material handling, site cleanup, and assisting with daily operations as needed. Supports plant efficiency by following safety protocols, operating basic equipment, and working collaboratively with team members to meet production goals..

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Perform general labor tasks to support daily plant operations
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including sweeping, shoveling, and debris removal
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies
  • Operate basic tools and equipment as required
  • Support production team with routine tasks and process flow
  • Conduct housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and organized work environment
  • Assist with equipment cleaning and basic maintenance as needed
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required Work Experience: Minimum 6 months expereince
  • Ability to perform physical labor in a plant environment
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move heavy materials (as required)
  • Willingness to perform housekeeping and cleanup duties
  • Ability to follow safety rules and procedures at all times
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required
  • Ability to work in varying weather and industrial conditions
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
