ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize is seeking a professional to lead our government affairs strategy in support of market access, risk mitigation, and business growth. This role will build a disciplined, high-impact Government Affairs program aligning internal leadership, optimizing trade association investments, and delivering measurable policy wins across priority issues, including building codes, roofing policy, energy efficiency, packaging EPR, and resilience-focused incentives.

This is a high-visibility role requiring strategic leadership, strong executive presence, and hands-on execution. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Lead government affairs strategy across federal and state priorities, translating policy into business outcomes.
  • Optimize trade association engagement driving discipline, alignment, and ROI.
  • Drive key state campaigns, including market access issues affecting roofing and coatings, packaging EPR exposure, and state/local building code engagement.
  • Establish policy positions on emerging issues (e.g., cool roof mandates) and ensure consistent external messaging.
  • Manage external partners, including trade associations, coalitions, and state lobbying firms to deliver results.
  • Build executive alignment through clear reporting, measurable progress, and a strong internal control system.
  • Coordinate with company functions to align advocacy with broader Amrize priorities and compliance standards.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. 

Priority Issues You’ll Own

  • Packaging Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) (state-by-state compliance and advocacy)
  • Roofing coatings and mandates market access and insurance-related policy dynamics
  • State/local building codes strategy and engagement
  • Roofing-related mandates and standards, including energy efficiency changes impacting roofing, coatings, insulation, wallboard, and other building materials. 
  • Select federal initiatives aligned to resilience, weatherization, and building performance

  • Improved discipline and effectiveness across trade association spend
  • Proactive mitigation of policy risk and faster response to emerging threats
  • Stronger executive buy-in and visible impact on company priorities

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Law, Economics, or related field.
Required Work Experience:

  • 10+ years in government affairs, public policy, advocacy, or regulatory strategy
  • Proven success driving state legislative and regulatory outcomes
  • Experience managing trade associations, coalitions, and external lobbyists/consultants
  • Strong ability to influence senior leaders and operate cross-functionally
  • Excellent judgment, integrity, and compliance mindset

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in building materials, building envelope, roofing, insulation, coatings, or construction products
  • Familiarity with building codes, product standards, and market access issues
  • Experience with packaging/EPR policy and multi-state compliance landscapes 

Travel Requirements: 25-40%

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
