ABOUT THE ROLE

 

We are seeking a highly motivated Materials Lab Technician to perform a variety of testing as needed on
Ready mix concrete and a variety of related construction materials, ensuring our continued excellence in
industry standards as well , to constant and consistently seek out better economics and environmentalcorrect materials selections.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

 

  • Conducting various physical and chemical tests on materials, such as concrete, mortars, cements and
    admixtures among other special applications and construction materials. This may include using
    specialized equipment and following standardized procedures as well as innovative and R&D relatedtesting.
  • Preparing samples for testing, including collecting, weighing, and processing materials to ensure
    accurate results.
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, cleanliness and maintenance of calibrated
    instruments, assuring their proper function.
  • Accurately recording test results, documenting procedures, and preparing reports for both our internal
    team as well as suitable for review by engineers, inspectors, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the quality and accuracy of testing results, maintaining a clean and organized laboratory
    environment, and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Assisting with other laboratory tasks, such as inventory management and maintenance.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

Education –  1-2 years of experience in construction materials testing. 
Field of Study Preferred:   Field, production, and laboratory
setting as well as certifications such as ACI I, II, or related municipal authority materials testing
preferred.
Required Work Experience:   Proficiency in using laboratory equipment, performing ASTM standardized tests, and understanding
material properties.  

 

Additional Requirements: 

 

  • Ability to identify and resolve issues related to equipment malfunctions, test results, or material
    properties.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and identify potential issues.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
