ABOUT THE ROLE 
Greater Calgary Amrize RMX is looking for motivated knowledgeable leaders to work within the plant operations as batch plant operators. As a Concrete Batch Plant Operator, you will play a pivotal role in the concrete production process operating the batch plant and equipment. Your leadership, knowledge, attention to detail and commitment to safe work will contribute to the delivery of high-quality concrete mixes that meet project specifications with an industry leading company. This position requires a skilled individual with a understanding of plant operations and a consistent focus on maintaining quality standards throughout all stages of the operation.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Operate and monitor concrete batching plant to ensure accurate proportioning and mixing.
  • Monitor plant performance and function with members of the crew.
  • Perform routine quality control checks on raw materials and adjust batching processes as necessary to maintain quality standards, work with QC
  • Conduct regular service and maintenance on the batch plant to ensure reliable operation, work with maintenance lead hand.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues quickly to minimize downtime
  • Coordinate with production and delivery teams daily
  • Regular housekeeping
  • Maintain accurate records of material inventories, batch adjustments, production reports and work with the production supervisor and/or plant foreman.
  • Support a range of daily plant operations as needed, contributing to overall efficiency and ensuring smooth, safe functioning of the facility
  • Coordinate and direct sub-contractors
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
     

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience: At least 2 years industrial plant operation experience. A general understanding of industrial plant operations. An understanding of concrete production processes, mix designs, and material properties an asset.
Required Training/Certifications: Class 5 driver’s license. Must have a clean driver’s abstract. Current safety certifications/tickets are an asset but not required.


Additional Requirements: 

  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot batching equipment effectively, including computerized batching systems an asset.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Be competent with computers and PC-based electronic systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage priorities efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with team members
  • Motivated, and efficient, with the ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Equipment operator experience
  • Must be flexible and available to work outside regular hours to support daily plant operations as required.
  • Travel within the greater Calgary Area may be required
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
