ABOUT THE ROLE 
As a Ready-Mix Plant Supervisor, you will report to the Operations Support Manager of GCA RMX. The individual in the role is responsible for the safe, efficient, successful daily operation and performance of the ready-mix concrete facility.  The individual will work with a professional team of highly experienced and dedicated peers to meet goals and continuously perform at a high standard. 


There are two positions available. One for Calgary East and one for Spyhill. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Oversee plant operations and coordinate with Operations, Dispatch, Order desk, and Sales to ensure smooth and efficient workflow at the ready-mix plant.
  • Provide reporting and administrative support to employees with the Operations Support Manager.
  • Participate in workforce planning within a union environment, including staffing, scheduling, training, and development of ready-mix plant staff.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance, repairs and facility upgrades.
  • Delegate, track and report on all housekeeping activities.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure reliable plant and equipment performance.
  • Support the ready-mix driver base with the Driver Superintendent.
  • Take part in procurement activities, including sourcing parts, raw materials, and operational supplies, along with inventory control, raw material tracking, and invoice processing.
  • Identify opportunities for product development, capital projects, and operational efficiency based on frontline insights.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
     

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School Diploma
Additional Education Preferred: College Diploma or University Degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Field of Study Preferred: Business, Engineering, or any relevant field.
Required Work Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a ready-mix concrete or related construction industry.
Required Training/Certifications: Valid driver’s license
Required Technical Skills: MS Office, Google Suite, google sheets, SAP, ClickView
Travel Requirements: 10%


Additional Requirements: 

  • Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional understanding of concrete plant operations and equipment.
  • Basic computer literacy,
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
