ABOUT THE ROLE
The Afternoon Site Supervisor is responsible for the production and maintenance activities at the Coldwater Plant which is one of Eastern Canada’s most interesting limestone and granite operations. The Afternoon Site Supervisor’s primary focus is to lead the health and safety of the site. This will be done while leveraging operational excellence to achieve the highest productivity at the lowest cost of production at all stages of the operation. The Afternoon Site Supervisor will lead by example supporting alignment with all functional groups, including Safety, Environment, Land, and Manufacturing to drive communication and consistency. The Site Supervisor is part of the engagement with our neighbours and local communities to ensure we are viewed as a valued member of the industry and local community.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Develop and instill a site-level safety culture with an objective of “zero” harm, lead daily huddles, participate on the JHSC, ensure safety compliance, and assist with site audits and contractor safety management.
- Direct the individual development, motivation, training, and performance of direct reports, administer disciplinary measures fairly, and assist with hiring and local working agreements.
- Determine manpower requirements, establish weekly production and maintenance schedules, and manage teams to achieve daily production targets.
- Execute short-term planning and maintenance activities, manage equipment backlogs, and oversee mobile equipment fleet maintenance, inspections, and subcontractor procurement.
- Assist in developing and adhering to annual maintenance budgets, participate in monthly EBIT reviews, and manage inventory forecasting to optimize yield and profitability.
- Coordinate with sales, dispatch, quality, and shipping personnel to meet daily customer requirements and manage stockpile inventories.
- Lead short-term planning in accordance with the Mining Plan and ensure site-level compliance with Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) requirements.
- Assist in maintaining the site Environmental Management System (EMS), manage daily water taking data for PTTW compliance, and participate in environmental audits.
- Act as the secondary contact with relevant stakeholders in the local community, including neighbours, competitors, and government officials.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- An undergraduate degree in business, marketing, or engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- A strong background in digital tools, data management, and computer programming.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
