ABOUT THE ROLE
Drives strategy execution by overseeing and managing the Ready Mix business for the dynamic market of Colorado (safety, operations, full P&L, sales/commercial, maintenance, quality control, sustainability, land & environment, etc.).
The specific areas of focus include, but are not limited to, OH&S leadership, employee productivity, operational efficiency, customer centricity, employee retention/satisfaction by maintaining a positive working environment. The GM translates customer requirements into state-of-the-art production strategies and processes resulting in cost-effective processes. Should develop operations plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. Supervises, coaches and mentor’s subordinates. Monitors activities and satisfies reporting requirements in accordance to the Company’s policies. Responsible for financial performance, which includes among other things profit & loss accounts and capital expenditures. Leads by example and shows behavior consistent with the company’s values.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Delivers strategic leadership and management practices to the organization in support of the company’s business strategy. Ensures continual process improvement.
- Communicates and promotes safety, compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with
company standards. Leads by example. Creates and enforces a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. - Responsible for maintaining safe working environments and ensuring compliance with local,
state and federal safety regulations; coordinate closely with the safety team. - Responsible for ensuring positive relations with all stakeholders: employees, customers, suppliers,
community, government interest groups, etc. - Assures adherence to applicable legislation and regulations, including permit and environmental conditions; in coordination with local Environmental Manager.
- Understands the needs of the customers and positions the company to profitably meet mutual needs of customer and company. Provides excellent customer service to stakeholder groups by addressing issues,
questions or concerns in a timely manner. Builds long lasting relationships with customers. - Assesses market opportunities and develops annual business plans in terms of volume and expense budgets.
- Responsible for establishing sales goals.
- Develops appropriate market expectations and for sales and marketing functions. Ensures the execution of sales strategies to develop new opportunities,
increase market share and promote profitable sales growth. - Ensures quality through evaluation of the production process, material inputs and outputs. Partners with support functions to ensure that highest quality product is being delivered.
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree Minimum of 8 years of experience in the construction materials sector, including, but not limited to, production, distribution, quality, and commercial.
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Operations Management, Business, Sales, Marketing, Civil Engineering, or other related discipline
Required Training/Certifications: Frequent travel to company and customer sites and within the US for corporate projects.
Required Technical Skills: Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). SAP, Qlik Sense, and Google Meets/Zoom experience preferred.
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to company and customer sites and within the US for corporate projects. Travel overseas might be sometimes required.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved
Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
