ABOUT THE ROLE

 

The ACM CAPEX Manager leads capital investment governance for Amrize ACM across all regions, overseeing the planning, review, approval, execution, reporting, and compliance. This role works together with the team of Regional CAPEX Systems Managers, drives continuous improvement of CAPEX processes and digital tools, and serves as the primary liaison between Operations, Finance, Procurement, Strategy, and Project Management throughout the capital project lifecycle. The position carries direct approval authority for capital submissions and is accountable for keeping the regional CAPEX pipeline accurate, current, and audit-ready. This role reports to Director of Capex ACM North America.

 

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

 

  • Lead and manage the team of six Regional CAPEX Systems Managers, ensuring every region maintains an accurate Axiom pipeline in accordance with the MTP cadence.
  • Serve as Level 2 (final) reviewer on all capital projects under $500K, resolving open questions on submissions and issuing approval notifications to stakeholders once a project ties out.
  • Serve as Level 1 reviewer on all capital projects over $500K, including charter review, releasing complete submissions for signature, and handing off approved projects for weekly review with the CFO, senior Procurement, and Strategy.
  • Coordinate the annual development of the ACM Capital Investment Plan with the Regional CAPEX Systems Managers.
  • Train incoming project managers on submitting projects, releasing funds, and troubleshooting issues in PQ1 and PRD.
  • Manage SOX compliance carryovers for any project with unbudgeted spend extending into subsequent years.
  • Track and follow up on pending signatures required to finalize project submission approvals.
  • Oversee stage-gate progression of approved projects through closeout, including timely entry into OnePPM, PO issuance, and project closure.
  • Monitor capital forecasts against actual expenditures and report month-end variances by region.
  • Partner with Procurement to close out purchase orders and formally close completed projects in PRD.
  • Manage CAPEX systems; Axiom, OnePPM, and SAP and drive continuous improvement of CAPEX processes and reporting tools.
  • Promote health, safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the capital portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • The incumbent manages the ACM capex process. He / She interacts directly with the SVP’s, GM’s, Operations Manager, Plant Managers, Performance Managers and other Regional and Functional leadership roles
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

Education: Bachelor's degree

 

Additional Education Preferred:

 

Field of Study Preferred: Engineering, Business, Finance, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

 

Required Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial CAPEX/project management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional, multi-region teams.
  • Strong financial analysis, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

 

Required Training/Certifications:

Basic knowledge of underground mining methods is preferred

 

Required Technical Skills:

Advanced working knowledge of Axiom, OnePPM, SAP, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and the Microsoft Office suite.

 

Travel Requirements: 30%

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
