ABOUT THE ROLE
The Production Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all plant operations during their shift to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production. This role provides frontline leadership across raw grinding, kiln operations, finish grinding, and shipping while maintaining accountability for safety, quality, and performance.
The Shift Supervisor is the senior operational leader on shift and is expected to be highly visible in the field, driving accountability, reinforcing standards, and ensuring strong team performance.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Lead and coordinate all production activities to meet safety, quality, and production targets.
- Monitor plant performance, identify issues, and take immediate corrective action.
- Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable to performance and behavioral standards. Provide strong, visible leadership to all employees and contractors on shift.
- Support and execute plant trials, process improvements, and optimization initiatives.
- Maintain familiarity with emergency procedures, SDS requirements, and response protocols
- Maintain documentation related to operations, safety, and performance.
- Coordinate overtime, call-outs, and workforce coverage.
- Participate in shutdown planning and execution.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and coordinate maintenance response.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is an asset.
Required Work Experience: 5 years of experience in a heavy industrial environment. Cement experience preferred.
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.
Travel Requirements: 10%

- Strong understanding of cement manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Proven leadership experience in an industrial or unionized environment.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to adapt to shift work and respond to operational demands.

- Coach, mentor, and develop employees to build capability and engagement.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
