ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Engineer will support the development and execution of engineering activities for a large cement-mining project in Colorado. The scope of the project involves the development of a new quarry and supporting infrastructure to transport, store, and feed raw materials to the existing cement plant. The role will coordinate and work with multidisciplinary engineering teams both within the company and with external engineering partners to ensure the timely execution of engineering deliverables and construction services in compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and contractual requirements. This position is fully onsite and works closely with the Engineering Manager, Process Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical teams, Construction, and Finance throughout the project lifecycle.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH   

  • Develop and maintain the project schedule
  • Work with suppliers, contractors, engineering partners and project personnel to drive schedule updates
  • Monitor and inform teams of changes and impacts to critical path as schedule progresses
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
  • Compile and develop technical annexes for RFQs, RFPs, and provide technical clarifications throughout the tendering process
  • Support the engineering and supplier partners with document requests, coordinating transfer of documents and information across teams
  • Work with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure all parties are communicating and transferring information needed to perform work on a timely manner
  • Review design documents to ensure compliance with Amrize design standards and technical specifications
  • Work closely with the engineering, equipment and, construction partners, communicating deadlines and tracking progress of work
  • Support engineering partners and suppliers to ensure document numbering is according to Amrize standards
  • Review and submit documents to the document control team
  • Track progress of documents, which are under review, redlined, final submission etc. 
  • Support engineering and supplier site visits, organize with local team and needs for the work to be performed such as PPE, onsite transportation etc.
  • Work with site to minimize impact of construction work on normal operation
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Required Work Experience: 3–5 years of experience in cement, mining, or heavy industrial EPC projects
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and the Microsoft Office suite of programs
Travel Requirements: Travel to supplier and engineering offices

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
