ABOUT THE ROLE
The Facility Manager provides leadership and management to the overall operation of the Facility, ensuring the attainment of corporate and facility goals as well as compliance with government and regulatory agencies. Serves as a business partner to the affiliated cement operation, a company representative and spokesman with the regulatory and government agencies and to serve as a liaison with the community.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Maintain a high housekeeping standard at all times
- Develop the budget for the facility and be accountable for results based on defined KPIs
- Directly responsible for facility operational expenditures and coordination of day-to-day activities at the facility including communication of full trailer status, transporter communication, daily inventory forecast, daily on site trailer count, daily co-process list and the coordination and scheduling of Fredonia hazardous waste deliveries
- Interface with Geocycle personnel, third party operating staff, site visitors, customers, and transporters
- Work with Geocycle sales personnel to determine acceptability of material, scheduling and customer service
- Ensure the proper analysis of received materials, the handling and safety procedures for waste derived fuel at the facility, and the emergency procedures for the facility
- Maintain excellent working relationship with disposal outlets to ensure coordination of activities and safe and effective use of alternative fuels by the plant
- Provide leadership, guidance, and direction for the Geocycle facility to ensure alignment with organizational goals
- Responsible for training, development and involvement of employees at the facility
- Plan major maintenance projects and develop capital investment recommendations for the facility
- Manage non-routine situations in the operation of the facility
- Submit purchase orders and blanket purchase order invoices for corporate approval
- Prepare and submit company reports as needed and may include the Monthly Safety Report, Monthly Inventory Report, Monthly Variance Report, Monthly Supplier Analysis, P L Report, Monthly Plant Narrative and update Facility Graphs.
- Participate and /or lead a number of meetings including the Daily SIC Meeting/Daily Managers Meeting, Weekly Tool box talks (Safety Meetings), AFR Council and Quarterly Quality Council Meeting
- Act as community relations representative on behalf of the facility
- Head local plant Recycling Program
- Data Management Representative – keep all forms/documents up-to-date facilitate audits
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree or 5 years of equivalent experience
Field of Study Preferred: Sciences, Engineering, Business or Related Field
Required Work Experience: 3 - 5 years operational experience in a technical work environment related to waste management and three years of experience in a managerial position is required
Required Technical Skills: Knowledge of Windows, Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Project Management and SAP is preferred
Additional Requirements:
- Technical skills in the hazardous waste fuel industry are preferred

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
