ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Data Analytics & Sales Intern who is ready to combine analytical thinking with client-facing strategy. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex data insights and commercial sales execution. Working alongside our commercial and sales operations teams, you will analyze market trends, evaluate customer purchasing patterns, and build data-driven tools to directly empower our sales team and drive business growth. 

 

This opportunity will be a 10-week, paid internship beginning June 1, 2027 based in Greenbelt, MD

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING 

  • Sales Data & Trend Analysis: Analyze customer transaction data, regional sales performance, and pricing trends to identify revenue opportunities and areas for operational improvement. 
  • Dashboard & Tool Creation: Assist in building and updating automated reporting dashboards and visualization tools (e.g. Excel) to support daily sales decisions. 
  • Customer & Market Research: Evaluate market conditions, competitor benchmarks, and account performance to help target new business prospects and optimize existing accounts. 
  • Field & Team Engagement: Work closely with sales representatives, account managers, and business leaders to understand operational challenges and deliver actionable data solutions. 
  • Safety & Security Protocols: Adhere to all company guidelines, data governance standards, and health and safety policies across all work environments. 
  • Executive Presentation: At the conclusion of your internship, you will present your key data insights, business recommendations, and summer contributions to our leadership team. 

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

  • Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Finance, Statistics, Information Systems, or Business Administration with an analytical focus. 
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas) and Google Suites
  • Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated ability to clean, interpret, and transform raw data into clear, actionable business stories.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain technical insights to non-technical business partners. 
  • Proactive Mindset: High energy, curiosity, and a goal-oriented mindset with an eagerness to solve complex commercial problems. 

 

SCHEDULE AND ENVIRONMENT 

  • Work Schedule: This is an onsite role with a mandatory 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, working an 8-hour shift each day.
  • Work Environment: Hybrid or onsite office environment with opportunities to shadow sales personnel in the field. 
  • Transportation: You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Travel Requirements: You may need to travel for site tours, shadowing experiences, or intern events throughout the duration of your internship.
