ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has an immediate opening for a Plant Maintenance Fleet Manager to support support operations within our Ready Mix product line. The Plant Maintenance Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of a company’s fleet of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. They also manage maintenance schedules, budgets, and staff while coordinating with vendors to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespan

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Oversee comprehensive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance and reliability of all fleet and plant equipment
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend asset life
  • Lead and manage maintenance teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Monitor and control maintenance budgets, optimizing costs without compromising quality or safety
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and safety standards
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and drive strategic maintenance decisions
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to secure high-quality, cost-effective support
  • Implement asset management systems to track inventory, maintenance history, and lifecycle planning
  • Drive process improvements and adopt new technologies to enhance operational efficiency
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership to align maintenance strategies with business goals
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Field of Study Preferred:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Required Work Experience: Minimum 5–10 years of progressive experience in plant maintenance, fleet maintenance, or heavy equipment operations
  • Travel Requirements:Travel between multiple plant, yard, or fleet operating sites in Maryland, DC and Virgina as needed
  • Proven experience managing plant and fleet maintenance operations in a complex, high-demand environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop, mentor, and retain high-performing maintenance teams
  • Proven ability to leverage fleet management and asset management systems to improve uptime, reliability, and lifecycle planning
  • Hands-on experience integrating maintenance systems with operational reporting tools and dashboards for data-driven decision making
  • Experience utilizing performance monitoring systems and telematics to assess equipment health and utilization
  • Ability to maintain accurate, real-time system records to support compliance, audits, and operational transparency
  • Strong experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order control, asset tracking, and preventive maintenance scheduling
  • Deep knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and asset lifecycle management
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze equipment data and implement data-driven maintenance improvements
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations, environmental standards, and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and asset tracking tools
  • Strong vendor management skills, including contract negotiation and performance oversight
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to align with cross-functional teams and leadership


Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
