ABOUT THE ROLE

To supervise the safe and efficient operation of a concrete batch plant including concrete mixer drivers and plant maintenance to ensure delivery of quality product, timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies; ensure daily compliance, correct issues immediately, and offer coaching.
  • Keep an accurate, organized daily safety talks binder; document near misses and coaching events for the plant manager, and communicate updated safety minutes and toolbox sheets to staff and drivers.
  • Supervise concrete mixer drivers and maintain a positive, high-morale work environment while actively developing operational personnel.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to meet/exceed environmental compliance and ensure strict adherence to company policies, governmental regulations, and required record-keeping.
  • Submit accurate operational reports on time to the area administrator, track performance KPIs (safety, service, volume), and establish effective action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, the Plant Manager, and Sales Representatives to ensure a positive customer experience, guarantee satisfaction, and identify new sales opportunities.
  • Create efficient scheduling for routine maintenance and jobs to optimize fleet use, maximize turns per day/truck, and utilize maintenance programs to maximize plant up-time and control costs.
  • Manage raw material and product inventories, perform physical inventory counts, order production materials, and ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Schedule concrete deliveries, provide customer pricing, and ensure accurate batching to meet quality standards in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the plant and equipment utilization to standard guidelines.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience in the ready mix business preferred
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Logistics, Civil Engineering Technology, or Business Administration
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ supervisory experience
  • Customer Service oriented
  • Excellent Communication skills – verbal and written
  • Good organization and planning skills; able to multi-task, prioritize and maintain composure in a busy environment
  • Self-Motivated
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, SAP, Command-Alkon)

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Available to work overtime as needed
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
