ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a  Utility Operator to support operations in our Recycling divisison. A Utility Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment and utility machinery within the recycling division to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations. Performs routine inspections, basic maintenance, and process adjustments while supporting production goals and maintaining compliance with safety and environmental standards. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Safely operate heavy equipment and utility machinery to support daily recycling division operations
  • Ensure continuous and efficient material processing to meet production targets
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and identify mechanical or safety issues early
  • Support preventive maintenance activities to reduce downtime and equipment failures
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, and company regulations
  • Assist in sorting, handling, and processing recyclable materials accurately and efficiently
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow
  • Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work environment across all operational areas
  • Follow standard operating procedures to ensure consistent quality and operational efficiency
  • Assist in loading, unloading, and transporting recyclable materials as needed
  • Participate in ongoing training to improve equipment operation skills and safety awareness
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required Work Experience: Experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial or recycling environment
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols
  • Ability to operate utility and production machinery efficiently and accurately
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment inspections and minor troubleshooting
  • Reliability and strong attendance record
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Willingness to follow directions and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to identify and report safety or equipment issues promptly
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends or overtime if needed


Additional Requirements:

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
