ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, a leading supplier of high-quality construction materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Flaoting Batching Operator to support operations within our Ready Mix product line. A Floating Batching Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring batch plants across Central, Southern, Western, and Eastern Maryland, ensuring accurate batching of concrete materials according to mix designs and production schedules. They also help maintain quality, troubleshoot batching/equipment issues, and provide coverage at plants as operational needs arise.

 

 WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Float across Ready Mix batch plants throughout Central, Southern, Western, and Eastern Maryland based on operational needs.
  • Operate and monitor batch plants to ensure accurate and efficient concrete production.
  • Follow mix designs and specifications to maintain consistent concrete quality.
  • Monitor plant equipment and address operational issues to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with dispatch and drivers to support on-time deliveries.
  • Monitor raw material levels and support inventory needs.
  • Perform routine plant inspections and equipment checks.
  • Maintain accurate batch tickets, production records, and documentation.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and company procedures.
  • Provide reliable batching coverage across multiple locations to support production demands.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE 'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Technical training, vocational education, or coursework in construction, industrial operations, mechanical systems, or a related field is a plus.
  • Required Work Experience: 2+ years of experience in Ready Mix, concrete production, batching, construction materials, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment.
  • Travel Requirements: 25- 50%
  • Ready Mix or concrete batching experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate and monitor batch plant equipment.
  • Experience operating or monitoring batch plant equipment preferred.
  • Experience with material handling, production processes, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Ready Mix/concrete batching experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work across multiple plant locations and adjust to changing production needs.
  • Knowledge of concrete mix designs, batching procedures, and quality standards.
  • Ability to monitor aggregates, cement, admixtures, and other materials.
  • Strong understanding of plant safety and operating procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic equipment troubleshooting and inspections.
  • Strong attention to accuracy, quality, and production efficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively with dispatchers, drivers, maintenance, and plant teams.
  • Reliable, safety-focused team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment


Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
