ABOUT THE ROLE
The Terminal Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Fort Collins Terminal, including rail and truck unloading, cement storage, distribution, inventory management, maintenance, and overall terminal performance.
This role provides day-to-day leadership to terminal employees and contractors while ensuring the facility operates in accordance with Amrize standards for safety, environmental compliance, quality, customer service, and operational excellence. The Terminal Manager is also responsible for optimizing terminal performance, managing costs and budgets, developing employees, maintaining equipment reliability, and ensuring the terminal is positioned to meet current and future customer and business needs.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

Lead all terminal activities with a strong focus on safety, operational excellence, environmental compliance, quality, and customer service.

Ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently in accordance with Amrize policies, established operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Promote a strong safety culture by actively reinforcing safe work practices, identifying and addressing hazards, and holding employees and contractors accountable for safety expectations.

Lead, coach, train, develop, and evaluate terminal employees to build capability, improve performance, and support employee development.

Establish and manage employee development and training plans for terminal operators.

Manage contractor activities and ensure compliance with contractor control requirements and site expectations.

Develop and manage the terminal operating budget in alignment with cost, volume, maintenance, and business expectations.

Oversee the receiving and unloading of railcars and trucks, cement storage, inventory management, and loading of customer trucks.

Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure required daily inventory and operational information is communicated to Sales, Logistics, and other appropriate business partners.

Monitor inventory levels, anticipate potential product shortages or operational disruptions, and develop appropriate contingency plans.

Develop, implement, and manage preventive and periodic maintenance programs for terminal equipment and facilities.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure equipment issues are identified, prioritized, and addressed to support safe and reliable operations.

Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with terminal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Coordinate closely with Logistics, Sales, Operations, Maintenance, customers, carriers, and other internal and external partners to support efficient terminal operations.

Participate in the recruitment, selection, onboarding, performance management, and, when necessary, corrective action of terminal employees.

Identify opportunities to improve terminal efficiency, equipment reliability, cost performance, housekeeping, and overall operational effectiveness.

Complete special assignments, projects, and other responsibilities as directed by Logistics leadership.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with equivalent relevant experience.
Required Work Experience:

3–5 years of experience in an operations or maintenance role within the cement, concrete, aggregates, bulk materials, transportation, or similar heavy industrial environment.

1–3 years of supervisory, Terminal Manager-in-Training, lead, or other demonstrated leadership experience.

1–3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a light or heavy industrial environment preferred.
Required Technical Skills:
-
Working knowledge of industrial operations, equipment, preventive maintenance, and safe work practices.

Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.

SAP or similar enterprise system experience is preferred.

Ability to maintain accurate operational, inventory, maintenance, and compliance records.

Ability and willingness to operate terminal equipment and perform required operational tasks when training employees, supporting operations, or responding to emergency conditions.

Ability to work effectively in an industrial environment and respond to changing operational priorities.

Ability to climb ladders and stairs and perform the physical requirements associated with terminal operations.

Ability to work outside of normal business hours when required to support terminal operations or emergency situations.

Successful candidates must adhere to all Amrize safety policies and the proper use of approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to successfully pass qualitative and quantitative fit testing
