We’re seeking a Quarry Manager who’s ready to put your skills to work on projects that matter — and build a career with a company that’s building North America.
Job Title: Quarry Manager | Req ID: 17587 | HR Contact: Kyle Jon KEMPEN | Location: Midlothian Cement Plant TX
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Quarry Manager's primary responsibility is to open and operate a new limestone quarry that will supply the Midlothian Cement Plant, working in close partnership with the Project Manager to develop and bring the new pit online. During the transition period, limestone will be supplied approximately 50% from the new quarry and 50% from the existing quarry, which is operated by a third party.
The Quarry Manager will coordinate closely with the third-party operator and its quarry manager to ensure the plant receives sufficient quantities and consistent quality of limestone throughout the transition and as the new quarry ramps up to full production. Ensure that all mine operations are conducted in a safe manner that meets MSHA and Company requirements, and operate the mine in an environmentally sound manner within the established budget.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Partner with the Project Manager to plan, permit, and open the new quarry — including mine planning, pit development, infrastructure, mobile fleet, and standing up the site organization.
- Be a proven, successful quarry manager with experience in aggregate/limestone processing and manufacturing or a related industry; greenfield or new-pit development experience is a strong plus.
- Be responsible for all aspects of mining operations at the new quarry, including quality, technical support, payroll duties, and safety.
- Be responsible for short-term and long-term mine planning, including ground control and surveying.
- Manage the transition period, ensuring uninterrupted limestone supply to the plant while the new and existing quarries each provide roughly half of the plan's requirements.
- Coordinate with the third-party operator of the existing quarry on supply, quality, and safety, and manage a smooth handover as the new quarry reaches full production.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
