Description:

Join Amrize as a Project Manager - Major Projects and help construct what's next. If you're ready to put your skills to work on projects that matter — and build a career with a company that’s building North America — we want to hear from you!

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to lead Major Projects in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between project consortiums, ownership groups, and our internal operations. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of large-scale material logistics—from initial site collection and stockpiling through to final disposal or placement at authorized facilities. Given the high-intensity nature of major civil infrastructure, this role requires a leader available to ensure seamless production and immediate problem resolution across multi-shift operations

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Ensure hauling and logistics capacity consistently meets peak excavation and construction demands to prevent any stoppage of primary site operations.
  • Manage the complex tracking and disposal of materials according to provincial environmental regulations (such as O.Reg 406/19 and 347/90).
  • Oversee onsite subcontractors to maintain efficient stockpile management and digital material tracking.
  • Build collaborative relationships with project partners, participating in weekly look-ahead scheduling and daily coordination.
  • Manage urgent service requests with a mandatory response time for additional or adjusted resources.
  • Oversee project costs, review subcontractor invoices, and provide timely monthly progress reports.
  • Enforce a "See Something, Do Something" culture, ensuring all staff and subcontractors comply with project-specific safety programs.
  • Develop strategies for hauling and disposal during extreme weather conditions and seasonal load restriction periods.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Business Administration, or Environmental Science.
  • Work Experience: 5 years of relevant project coordination experience.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Ontario environmental regulations (O.Reg 406/19 & 347/90) governing the management, hauling, and disposal of materials.
  • Logistics Expertise: Advanced skill in managing high-volume logistics, including peak production scheduling and tight response windows.
  • Strategic Skills: Ability to develop 3-week look-ahead schedules, forecast project cash flow, and manage project budget

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel between job sites, the Head Office (Mississauga) and various active pit/quarry sites across Central Ontario.
  • Comfortable working in a dusty, active construction environment as often as a corporate boardroom.
  • A proactive commitment to health and safety, actively mentoring field crews and subcontractors.
  • Strong verbal and written skills; proven ability to manage diverse views and act as a professional liaison between stakeholders.
  • High capacity for organizing competing priorities and managing multiple project elements simultaneously.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

WHAT WE OFFER

  •  Flexible Health & Dental benefits coverage for you and your dependents, effective day one.
  • A generous Pension Plan designed to support you through various stages of your career and life.
  • Access to voluntary programs like RRSP and TFSA for future financial planning.
  • Healthy Living support through an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), offering confidential assistance for work, health, or life challenges.
  • Easy access to mental health and well-being support.
  • Service recognition awards to celebrate your contributions.
  • Perks & discounts on a variety of products and services.
  • Access to online learning platforms, financial educational assistance, and a culture that fosters career growth and opportunities.
  • Financial support for new parents beyond statutory benefits.
  • An inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone can be themselves.
