ABOUT THE ROLE
The Technical Manager will be responsible for the effective management of Quality Control/Processes ensuring product performance, cost management, claim management, digital transformation, effective reserve utilization, value cases creation and customer satisfaction for the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Moreover, the incumbent will also be in charge of the team growth and development, establishing and implementing clear strategies to deliver exceptional levels of customer product quality/performances and to drive key Technical initiatives across the other markets.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Ensure that Aggregate products meet the established quality standards in the most efficient manner and provide the regional technical services necessary for the efficient and successful production and marketing of these products.
- Lead the Aggregates Quality Control team in GTA and act as a cross functional interface with the business lines to drive consistency and compliance at the local level and across all product lines for CCAN.
- Provide leadership, coaching and support to the Market level Aggregates Technical Managers across CCAN.
- Drive the implementation of digital transformation and departmental KPIs.
- Drive the Minimum Standards Quality modules as well as leading a team of Quality professionals to deliver consistent, high quality, innovative and sustainable products.
- Ensure GTA aggregates strategies are integrated and in alignment with the country, regional and NA Aggregates approach.
- Manage and develop future Quality Control and Process Control programs to achieve industry leadership.
- Ensure that Amrize is well represented by the Amrize senior team on industry decision making bodies such as the CSA, OSSGA, ORBA, BNQ etc.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: A University degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
- Required Work Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience within a construction environment, including at least 10 years of successful technical leadership experience in the aggregates industry.
- Required Training/Certifications: Provincial and Territorial professional engineer registration is preferred.
- Required Technical Skills: Proven experience managing and coordinating Quality Control or Technical Services activities on large and high profile projects/environment.
- Travel Requirements: 30% travel.

- Well organized, able to demonstrate a history of strong organizational skill, analytical and problem solving abilities, with good attention to detail.
- Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, strategy, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple and changing priorities.
- Strong ability to interact effectively with others, drive changes and lead initiatives in high profile environment.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
