ABOUT THE ROLE

The Procurement Manager will oversee all aspects of procurement for the project including for all capital equipment, building materials, construction related services and raw materials.  This position will manage supplier relationships, strategic sourcing and procurement processes and ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services essential for the project.  The Procurement Manager must utilize a proactive approach to optimizing procurement strategies and place a strong focus on cost reduction, quality assurance and supply chain efficiency.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the Project’s business goals and operational requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to manage procurement projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to secure advantageous terms.
  • Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify and onboard reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, production, logistics, quality assurance, and finance departments, to forecast demand and ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and performance metrics.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes, reduce costs, and improve supplier performance.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement activities' legal, regulatory, and environmental policies and standards.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Field of Study Preferred: Supply Chain Management, business administration, engineering or related field

 

Required Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management, preferably within a manufacturing environment and/or a greenfield plant environment. 
  • Certification in supply chain management or procurement is a plus. 

 

Required Computer and Software Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with Procore or similar project management software Proficient in procurement software and systems

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional, but regular overnight travel to the project site and to suppliers for meetings and presentations

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrate detailed and efficient organization skills
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Work well under pressure to meet project deadlines
  • Show high levels of commitment to detail
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and strategic sourcing principles.
  • Strong knowledge and project procurement experience with greenfield and brownfield expansions.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and managing budgets.
  • Familiarity with capital projects including engineering and construction is a plus
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
