ABOUT THE ROLE
The Quality Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining, and improving the company's quality system in keeping with the corporate philosophy, regulatory requirements, and quality management requirements, aligned with the plant's business plans. This position provides leadership and technical expertise that is focused on the relentless pursuit of achieving and maintaining product quality for Malarkey Roofing Products.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- plant Quality Management System and associated quality processes, procedures, and records.
- Partners with employees and managers in the manufacturing department to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards. Interacts with all levels in the company.
- Monitor and evaluate production processes and product quality through appropriate inspection, testing, process controls, CTQs, CPPs, SPC, and other quality methodologies.
- Lead the development and maintenance of PFMEAs, Control Plans, inspection requirements, and other quality planning activities to identify and mitigate product and process risks.
- Lead investigations and corrective actions related to product and process nonconformances, customer claims, and quality issues, ensuring root causes are identified and that corrective actions are effective.
- Work with suppliers to establish and maintain raw material quality requirements, COA expectations, supplier performance standards, and corrective action procedures.
- Perform and oversee internal audits and work with outside compliance bodies to achieve and maintain applicable regulatory, customer, industry, and company requirements.
- Ensure laboratory and inspection activities are effectively managed, including test methods, equipment, calibration, maintenance, and documentation.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor of Science
Field of Study Preferred: Chemistry, Engineering, or Statistics
Required Work Experience: 5+ years’ experience managing the quality function in high-speed, continuous, or multi-lane processes
Travel Requirements: NA
Additional Requirements:
- ASQ certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or as a Certified Manager of Quality/Operational Excellence (CMQ/OE).
- Experience tracking, identifying, and implementing applicable code compliance requirements with a strong, proven background in applied basic and advanced statistics is preferred.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
