ABOUT THE ROLE
Based out of our Richmond Cement Plant, the Production EIT’s prime objective is to execute and/or ensure all activities related to production within the plant through a consistent understanding of processes and through interaction with people of various departments. The Production EIT spends significant time in the field and team up with management in supporting manufacturing processes with Amrize’s Cement business. The scope of this position includes all activities necessary to improve the efficiency and/or effectiveness of the major equipment and it’s reporting.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Function as a safety leader in the plant by demonstrating a personal commitment to working safely and ensuring that the Plant continues to eliminate work related risks. Function as a strong advocate and leader in promoting a safe working environment for all employees at the plant.
- Carry out daily safety workplace inspections, hazard and field level risk assessments.
- Maintain housekeeping standards of the Richmond facility in order to achieve a clean, safe and environmentally compliant plant.
- Work closely with the Production coordinator and Maintenance department in scheduling of equipment stoppages for shutdowns and repairs.
- Resolves daily issues relating to cement production and works with other Departments (Quality, process, maintenance, shipping) to resolves issues which can impact shipments or product quality.
- Review and streamline work methods (schedules, SOP’s, implement Best Practices) in order to minimize cost & improving efficiencies.
- Provide leadership and accountability for reporting accurate downtime notifications, use of correct heat factors, completion of downtime notifications and confirmations, and creation and execution of process orders.
- Cover Shift Supervisor absences. Leading a shift production team occasionally. Walk in the field to inspect and check the correct run of equipment.
- Solve complex production problems with the help the plant team. Help the yard department in coordinating works during maintenance days and major shut downs.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School Diploma
Field of Study Preferred: Engineering. Industrial production. Management.
Required Work Experience:0 -2 years in a similar field.
Travel Requirements: 10%

- Team player: have the ability to develop and maintain cohesive working relationships with peers and management.
- High initiative, self-starter.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Able to thoroughly analyze situations or processes from different perspectives
- Able to independently determine discrepancies in trends or numerical data, investigate and resolve.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
