ABOUT THE ROLE

The prime objective of is to monitor equipment condition on a continuous basis and analyze trends in order to ascertain the required maintenance interventions (mechanical, electrical, mobile equipment) necessary to maximize equipment reliability, performance and life expectancy, at the lowest possible cost, while maintaining the production functions.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Follows and ensures full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring all contracts and project sites meet safety policy requirements.
  • Monitors equipment condition by performing a formal schedule of systematic inspections (PM) and non-systematic inspections as required.
  • Collects and analyses equipment vibration, temperature (infrared), ultrasound, and magnetic fields data, and ensures fan balancing.
  • Inspects repairs and/or rebuilds being made off-site and shares responsibility for the quality of specialized items received by Stores.
  • Performs follow-up inspections and verifies tolerances in critical issues to assure compliance with accepted standards and PPM Guidelines.
  • Uses SAP to manage activities and generate maintenance KPI’s to measure function effectiveness.
  • Acts as the recognized technical expert, providing advice, making technical decisions regarding plant equipment, and coaching other maintenance practitioners.
  • Coordinates with the Environmental Manager to ensure all regulatory requirements, Certificates, or permits are completed and reviewed.
  • Participates in the budgeting process, forecast updating, and serves as a prime source of advice in planning and scheduling major maintenance activities.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: Bachelors or DEC.
  • Field of Study Preferred: Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technologist.
  • Required Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of heavy industry maintenance experience.
  • Required Technical Skills: SAP, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
  • Travel Requirements: 10%.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Bilingualism, French and English.
  • Knowledge of Predictive Maintenance tools and techniques (Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Ultrasound, Infrared Analysis, etc.).
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques (Statistical Process Control, Root Cause Failure Analysis, etc.).
  • Experience in developing Preventive Maintenance (PM) program.
  • Strong computer skills and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong communicator (both oral & written) with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to meet on-call responsibilities in a 24/7 operation and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment, well-organized, and systematic.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
