ABOUT THE ROLE
To supervise the safe and efficient operation of a concrete batch plant including concrete mixer drivers and plant maintenance to ensure delivery of quality product, timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Ensure safety guidelines are followed daily, correct issues immediately, and offer coaching on safe work practices.
- Maintain an accurate daily safety talks binder and ensure safety minutes and toolbox talk sheets are communicated to employees and drivers.
- Document near misses and significant coaching events along with plant safety issues to the plant manager.
- Supervise drivers and maintain a positive work environment through coaching and mentoring.
- Create efficient scheduling for routine maintenance and jobs to ensure best use of the fleet and maximize plant up-time.
- Responsible for scheduling concrete deliveries, ordering raw materials, and ensuring accurate batching to meet customer requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage inventory of materials and products, conduct physical counts, and ensure payroll accuracy.
- Track operational performance, establish effective action plans, and maximize turns per day per truck.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: High School Diploma.
- Preferred Fields of Study: Civil Engineering Technology or Business Administration.
- Work Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience; experience in the ready-mix business is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Word, Excel, SAP, and Command-Alkon.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organization/planning skills, and the ability to multi-task while maintaining composure in a busy environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Available to work overtime as needed.
- Self-motivated and customer service oriented.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
