ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the General Manager of Saskatchewan. The Field Operations Advisor oversees the company’s safety and environmental systems as it applies to successful product manufacturing and delivery, project management, and client satisfaction.  This role supports the operations to ensure Amrize continues to lead the way in safety and environmental excellence and employer of choice. 
The Field Operations Advisor is to provide support to both the hourly and salary employees in respect to plant and jobsite safety.  This is conducted by providing onsite support for operators as well as participating in operational hazard assessments and controls in partnership with the Supervisors.

 

This position is a 15-month Maternity Leave Coverage contract. 
 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Monitor and report on Key performance indicators, periodically audit quality of toolbox talks, FLRA’s, and other documents for accuracy and completeness, follow up on action plans and communicate to the senior management team.
  • Deliver safety training sessions, including new hire orientations; assist in Coordination and facilitation of Annual Kick Off Meetings for all employees.
  • Assist with near miss and incident reporting; facilitate minor incident investigations, liaise with regulatory authorities as needed, and support compliance through operational walking through operations.
  • Facilitate Pre-employment and Post incident testing; assist in Division’s claims management program and monitor worker progress.
  • Take minutes and participate in operational safety meetings promoting best practices and articulating employee’s concerns; execute company and division specific policies, and safety initiatives to improve overall safety performance.
  • Coach and train Managers and Supervisors on internal and external safety policies and programs; coach and support Managers and Supervisors on internal and external safety policies and programs.
  • Conduct COR audits; maintain safety files and record keeping including personnel onboarding, compliance records, month end data, training records, and provide support completion of pre-qualification documents.
  • Perform safety inspections including fire extinguishers and AEDs for administrative offices, attend operational inspections; maintain a steady field presence to ensure safety compliance is met – conduct inspections, audits and offer support and insight to workers in the field.
  • Manage third party contractor compliance platforms; assist in the Division’s Contractor Management Program; conduct risk assessments and provide suggested controls for risks associated with acquired jobs; assist in problem solving site management issues; manage Motor Vehicle Incident reporting documents; evaluate safety features on new and current equipment, trial new innovations, and provide feedback for management.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School diploma required 
Required Training/Certifications: Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety (preferred) 
Required Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of industry related safety experience 
Required technical Skills: Demonstrated strong application user skills for MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
Travel: 0-10%

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
