ABOUT THE ROLE
The Maintenance Supervisor, Concrete Products will drive and implement programs to ensure a more robust, cost saving, efficient, and safety-focused plant maintenance system for our Concrete Products plants. The primary objective for this position is to create a proactive and preventative maintenance program.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Tracking overall maintenance costs, break down costs by categories like parts and assets, through the use of the software and pinpoint actions and assets that incur the highest costs. Meet repair deadlines and keep maintenance metrics (KPIs).
- Find areas for improvement and focus on proactive maintenance strategies like preventive and predictive maintenance. This means, for example, looking for opportunities to bring work in-house (e.g.: hiring a certified mechanic instead of paying a contractor every time something breaks down). Innovate methods and equipment to improve safety and efficiency.
- Assist maintenance employees and subcontractors in the creation of Job Hazard Analysis for all maintenance functions.
- Schedule equipment’s preventive maintenance for the year in advance (E.g.: Oil changes).
- Find training opportunities for current workers to avoid expensive third party services.
- Forecast inventory needs and decrease spare parts inventory costs.
- Organize personnel for daily maintenance functions and repairs. Supervise them for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Improve the onboarding process for machine operators so they have less chance of damaging equipment by improper use.
