ABOUT THE ROLE

Lafarge Canada in Woodstock is looking for reliable and hardworking individuals to join our team as Night Shift Rock Truck / Equipment Operators. You'll play a vital role in producing the essential materials that build our communities. As a Night Shift Rock Truck/Equipment Operator, you'll be the backbone of our nighttime operations, ensuring the continuous flow of aggregate production. WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Skillfully operate heavy equipment like rock trucks and loaders to keep production moving.
  • Conduct thorough equipment checks to prevent breakdowns and ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Perform essential maintenance to keep our equipment in top condition.
  • Assist in fixing any equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
  • Use a skid steer and hand tools to keep our work areas clean and hazard-free.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout, to protect yourself and your team.
  • Keep supervisors informed and work collaboratively with your team.
  • Operate with care and awareness of environmental guidelines.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: High School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven experience in construction, mining, or heavy equipment operation is a major plus.
  • Certifications: Surface Miner certification or Rock Truck Driving training is a valuable asset.
  • Technical Skills: Basic welding and fitting abilities are a bonus.
  • Schedule: Must be available for consistent night shifts, overtime, and weekend work.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work Ethic: Dependable, hardworking, and a team player.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Safety Focus: Unwavering commitment to safety and environmental regulations.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
