ABOUT THE ROLE

The successful candidate will serve as a key technical bridge between plant operations, engineering, maintenance, automation, IT, and corporate technology teams, ensuring that critical production systems remain safe, reliable, secure, and available.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Own and support the plant's OT/IT architecture, including industrial networks, servers, virtualization, storage, and communications infrastructure. 
• Support and maintain PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, historian, MES, and plant monitoring systems. 
• Maintain reliable connectivity between plant-floor OT systems and enterprise IT environments while protecting critical control systems. 
• Partner with automation and electrical/instrumentation teams to troubleshoot complex control-system and communications issues. 
• Develop standards for OT hardware, software, networking, system configurations, backups, and lifecycle management. 
• Support integration of production, maintenance, quality, laboratory, energy, and business systems. 
• Lead implementation of OT cybersecurity practices aligned with recognized industrial cybersecurity frameworks and company standards. 
• Establish and maintain OT asset inventories, network segmentation, access controls, secure remote access, vulnerability management, and system hardening. 
• Monitor OT environments for cybersecurity risks and coordinate incident response with corporate IT/security teams. 
• Ensure appropriate backup, disaster recovery, and business-continuity capabilities for critical plant systems. 
• Evaluate cybersecurity implications of new automation equipment, vendors, software, and plant projects. 
• Improve the collection, availability, integrity, and use of plant production and process data. 
• Support historians, data platforms, dashboards, analytics, and reporting systems used for operational decision-making. 
• Work with process engineers and operations personnel to identify opportunities for predictive maintenance, process optimization, energy reduction, reliability improvement, and digital transformation. 
• Help establish reliable data flows from field devices and control systems through plant systems and into enterprise analytics platforms.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for production-critical OT/IT systems. 
• Analyze recurring failures and implement permanent corrective actions. 
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for OT infrastructure. 
• Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, configuration records, recovery procedures, and technical standards. 
• Participate in capital projects, system upgrades, equipment commissioning, and technology modernization initiatives. 
• Manage vendors, contractors, and system integrators as required. 
• The role will work closely with systems supporting key cement manufacturing processes, including: 
  • Raw material handling and crushing 
  • Raw milling and raw material preparation 
  • Kiln and pyroprocessing operations 
  • Clinker production and handling 
  • Finish grinding and cement milling 
  • Material conveying and storage 
  • Packing and shipping 
  • Environmental monitoring and emissions systems 
  • Electrical distribution and plant utilities

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR    

Education:  Bachelor's degree  

Additional Education Preferred:  Master's degree

Field of Study Preferred:  Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

Required Work Experience:  8+ years of progressive experience supporting OT/IT systems in industrial manufacturing, process manufacturing, mining, cement, aggregates, chemicals, steel, power, or a similar environment.

Required Technical Skills:  

• Demonstrated experience working directly with industrial control systems and plant-floor technology.
• Strong knowledge of industrial networking, including Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, managed switches, and industrial network architecture.
• Experience with PLC/DCS/SCADA/HMI environments and industrial historians.
• Understanding of Windows Server, virtualization, databases, backups, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of OT cybersecurity principles and industrial network segmentation.
• Experience troubleshooting production-critical systems in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both highly technical personnel and plant operations/maintenance teams.

Travel Requirements:  0-10%

Additional Requirements:  

• Cement manufacturing or other continuous-process manufacturing experience. 
• Experience with platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Emerson, or similar systems. 
• Experience with PI/industrial historians, MES, ERP integration, or manufacturing data platforms. 
• Familiarity with ISA/IEC 62443, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800-82, or comparable OT cybersecurity standards. 
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V. 
• Experience with industrial firewalls, remote-access solutions, network monitoring, and cybersecurity tools. 
• Experience leading OT modernization or digital transformation projects. 
• Knowledge of CMMS/EAM systems and integration with plant automation and maintenance systems. 
• Relevant certifications such as GICSP, CISSP, ISA/IEC 62443, or networking/security certifications are a plus.
• Acts as a senior technical authority and trusted partner to plant leadership.
• Demonstrates strong ownership of production-critical systems.
• Balances safety, reliability, cybersecurity, production requirements, and cost when making technical decisions.
• Communicates clearly and translates complex technical issues into practical business and operational impacts.
• Comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environment while also developing long-term technology strategy.
• Demonstrates a continuous-improvement mindset and proactively identifies reliability and technology risks.
• Works effectively across operations, maintenance, engineering, IT, cybersecurity, procurement, and corporate teams. 
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
