Floating Scale Clerk
ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, a leading supplier of quality construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Scale Clerk to support operations at our Middle River location and Rockville, MD Quarry. The Scale Clerk is responsible for accurately weighing and processing inbound and outbound materials, maintaining detailed transaction records, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will float from Rockville, MD to Middle River, MD as needed, while also coordinating with drivers and site personnel to support efficient yard operations.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Accurately weigh inbound and outbound materials using industrial scale systems
- Record and verify shipment data, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Coordinate truck flow by directing drivers to appropriate loading and unloading areas
- Maintain detailed logs of transactions, tickets, and scale records for auditing purposes
- Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and yard personnel to streamline operations
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in weights, documentation, or load contents
- Operate computerized scale software and data entry systems with high attention to detail
- Support inventory tracking by monitoring material movement and reporting inconsistencies
- Uphold safety protocols and ensure all vehicles meet site and regulatory requirements
- Provide administrative support, including filing, reporting, and customer service as needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Required Work Experience: Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a scale house, logistics, transportation, or similar operations environment
- Demonstrated ability to accurately process high-volume transactions with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in data entry and experience with computerized scale or ticketing systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Clear and professional communication skills when interacting with drivers, customers, and internal teams
- Working knowledge of basic documentation, recordkeeping, and compliance standards
- Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to established safety protocols
- Dependable and flexible, with the ability to adapt to changing operational needs and schedules
- Willingness to support multiple locations as needed and collaborate with team members to meet production goals
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
