ABOUT THE ROLE
The Quality Supervisor prime objective is to oversee the implementation of all activities related to quality control of materials at each stage of the cement manufacturing process in a safe working environment. These activities include but are not limited to the evaluation of chemical and physical properties of material, implementation of equipment maintenance and calibration plan. The Quality Supervisor ensures that the cement products meet both the internal and external quality standards and participates in the Quality audits (CCRL and ISO 9001). The Quality Supervisor reports directly to the Quality and Alternate Materials Manager and participates in cross functional teams in the plant.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Ensure that all quality activities and initiatives meet environmental regulatory requirements.
- Apply the laboratory QC procedures and ensure implementation and updating of the plant quality plan.
- Guarantee the accuracy and reliability of lab data and technical information system (TIS) updates.
- Implement the equipment maintenance and calibration plan.
- Implement training and certification for personnel assigned to the lab.
- Participate in annual testing programs (Lafarge Round robin, CCRL) and ISO 9001 audits.
- Proactively participate in process meetings and verify product quality through field inspections.
- Check adherence to all quality parameters from the quarry to cement dispatch.
- Organize and participate in the Root Cause Analysis program to resolve plant issues.
- Assist in the development and implementation of trial plans for alternative materials and fuels.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
- Preferred Education: Field of study in Civil Engineering or BS Chemistry.
- Experience: Previous experience in the Cement Industry with strong technical knowledge of cement manufacturing is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office suite) and knowledge of ISO 9001
- Travel: Ability to travel 5-10%.

- Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with plant personnel.
- Demonstrated commitment to achieving organizational and personal goals.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
