ABOUT THE ROLE

The Messaging & Cloud Solutions Technical Lead / SME is in charge of the technical, architectural, and operational elements for all the Collaboration & Communication applications and all digital solutions in scope. This is a senior position requiring a dedicated hands-on Google Workspace Cloud Engineer. This position can be seen as a stepping stone into a Senior IT Management role.

Responsibilities include road map ownership of the various IT technologies and the ability to act as 2nd & 3rd level support expert in the various aspects of the underlying systems, specifically in the area of Enterprise Messaging and Cloud Solutions (Google Workspace, Google Cloud Platform, AODocs, LumApps, CloudM and M365), where they are expected to be the Subject Matter Expert.

The position requires a deep knowledge of the solution capabilities provided from the business side and is in charge of the overall technical activities performed for the IT applications and solutions to match the business needs in compliance with the Amrize IT and Governance standards.

This position needs to interact on a regular basis with key IT experts as well as business functions in a consulting / trusted advisor role. Priority is to ensure high agility and effectiveness toward business and other IT teams such as Infrastructure, Architecture, IT Security, End User Support and Service Management with a strong focus on Operational Excellence and Compliance (Cybersecurity & SOX)

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH 

  • Support IT Operations & Projects with efficient task prioritization via analyzing business needs and managing the build, test and roll out processes using an agile approach. Initially considerable time will be required to review and define / update support models and potentially embed new support teams. While not a key focus, the ability to step in and manage tickets (L1 - L3) is expected.
  • Control and monitor Change Requests related to assigned applications and component services
  • Act as 3rd level support for the applications & solutions in scope (SME).
  • Ensure the correct services & solutions are implemented and supported globally in a sustainable and compliant manner, with specific focus on supporting SOX and Cybersecurity requirements
  • Ensure the technical aspects of the applications & solutions match with surrounding ecosystems and the solution / business roadmaps and requirements.
  •  Ensure alignment of technical design of the solutions with overall IT architectural standards (including documentation)
  • Ensure an efficient delivery by overseeing the quality of the assignment of the offshore / external teams.
  • Perform all activities in accordance with the Corp IT governance and policies.
  • Coordinate with the internal Amrize C&C Team and external Service Providers to deliver the IT services and technical elements required for all messaging and collaboration infrastructure, permissions, client access, mail protection, and mail flow in on-premise, hybrid cloud, and enterprise cloud environments
  • Act as Service Owner / Service Delivery Manager for all assigned services
  • Project Manage or support / action M&A, Divestment or migration projects

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS 

  • IT Service / Solution Owner for assigned Solutions & Services in scope
  • Ensure new Services / Tools deployed with End User impact & related Change Management activities managed
  • Integration / Alignment of requirements with other IT & Corporate teams: Platforms & Operations (P&O), Architects, Application Management / Key Users, IT Security, IT Compliance, Service Management etc.
  • Key Business Engagement teams in C&C Scope: Group Communications, Internal Audit, Legal & Compliance, H&SE, Technology & Innovation (AMTech), Sustainable Development and Security
  • Work closely with Key Service / Software providers (e.g., Google, LumApps & Beekeeper, AODocs, Microsoft) to ensure best use of the tools and services provided
  • Consulting & Support to Application Business Owners, Key Users and Project Teams
  • Support as required - External partners, Offshore Support & development consultants (e.g. M&A Activities)
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 

Education: Bachelor's degree 

 

Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree.

 

Field of Study Preferred: Computer Science / Engineering or related discipline with an IT focus. 

 

Required Work Experience: 

  • 10+ years’ experience
  • Expertise with the underlying technology for the Cloud / SaaS solutions in scope as well as the solutions themselves 
  • Expertise in the various infrastructure and application components essential for the solution to run, including, but not restricted to IAM, Data Center, Networking (proxies, firewalls etc.), as well as the end user computing platforms
  • Hands-on experience in infrastructure and operation activities, including end user platform configuration, management and support
  • Experience working with offshore teams and SaaS partners (such as L2 Maintenance & Support operational teams) proving 24x7 support
  • Familiarity with the Construction & Building Materials industry and its unique IT challenges is beneficial

 

Required Training/Certifications: 

  • Certification in Google Workspace Administration (e.g. Skills Boost)
  • Certification in Google Cloud Platform is highly desirable, but not immediately critical
  • Certification in M365 advantageous

 

Travel Requirements

  • up to 20% (including North America and Colombia - IT Digital Center / Business Service Center

  • ∙ Expert in the technical aspects - architectural and support models: 
    • SMTP (including all protocols, such as SPF/DKIM/DMARC)
    • Google Cloud & Google Workspace Configuration & Administration
    • Network rules
    • Domain management, directories, LDAP, IAM
    • Intranet / Internet content management solutions, including LumApps
    • End User Services, such as Mobile Device Management, Chrome Browser Management,SAML SSO, … 
    • Google Cloud Platform solutions & services
    • Integration of (Identity & Access Management (IAM) systems (such as Saviynt) with Google Directory services
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding IT/business processes in relation to the IT solutions and technologies.
  • Strong problem solving.
  • Experience in solution & services operation and delivery within an international group as an integral part of the overall ITSM services & solutions
  • Strong System Analyst skills with good understanding of business functional aspects / requirements. Experience in deploying automation tools / service is an advantage
  • Vendor Management experience is a definite advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of Google Workspace is critical with a working knowledge of Microsoft 365 an added advantage
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
