ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Aggregate Plant Millwright, you’ll take on a dynamic, hands-on role in an active outdoor environment where no two days are the same. You’ll tackle the technical challenge of keeping a wide variety of heavy industrial machinery and plant systems running smoothly, applying your problem-solving skills and mechanical expertise right where the action is. Key responsibilities include:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on critical production equipment, including impactors, jaw/cone crushers, screening equipment, pumps, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair, install, and align industrial mechanical components to maximize operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Execute precision welding, thermal cutting, and brazing tasks across diverse metallurgy and structural components.
- Strictly enforce and adhere to industrial safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTOTO), working at heights, and confined space protocols.
- Backfill in production roles at times.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Champion Safety Standards: Lead by example in a high-energy outdoor environment, actively promoting a proactive safety culture and adhering strictly to environmental and plant health guidelines (LOTOTO, working at heights, confined space protocols).
- Master Heavy Industrial Machinery: Install, align, dismantle, and move diverse stationary equipment—including pumps, fans, conveyors, crushers, screeners, tanks, and generators—using specialized tools and precision techniques.
- Solve Complex Mechanical Challenges: Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to rapidly troubleshoot, inspect, and diagnose technical issues across hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission, and programmable logic control (PLC) systems.
- Drive Hands-On Technical Operations: Operate heavy rigging and lifting gear (cranes, jacks, tractors) and machine tools (drills, grinders, welding equipment) to fabricate parts, assemble machinery, and conduct overhaul operations across the plant.
- Maximize Plant Reliability: Execute routine and preventive maintenance, adjust precision components, and perform custom fabrication and repairs to eliminate downtime and keep plant operations running efficiently.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
