Material Handler
 

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize Geocycle, the largest manufacturer and distributor of cement and related construction materials currently has an immediate opening for a Material Handler position for its manufacturing facility located in Coleman, MI. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Properly receive, unload and store alternative materials while respecting safety and quality standards
  • Responsible for accurate analysis, evaluation, handling and tracking of materials received at the pre-processing platform
  • Ensure all appropriate material testing, monitoring and inspections are performed (shift, daily, weekly, monthly, etc...) and documented as required
  • Perform CSR (Customer Service) functions as required; schedule deliveries with transporters or generators
  • Utilize SAP and WFMS for PQ set up, material approvals, load scheduling, daily receipts, billing, purchase requisitions; assist with billing inquiries and issues and 3rd party transactions
  • Ensure timely reporting and correction of co-processing and maintenance issues.  Notify Facility Supervisor of any downtime (via text, call, or radio)
  • Assist in repairs (Guards, breakdowns, etc...) as needed
  • Provide support to alternative materials testing, receiving, monitoring and co-processing
  • Practice and promote safety in such ways as including, but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only preforming authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE
  • Exercise and encourage core values including, but not limited ot; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment
  • Follow all Safety rules, work instructions and procedures
  • Maintain adherence to AFR policy, A-Cert, ISO and MSHA certifications.  Ensure compliance with permitted and internal requirements at all times
  • Ensure all mobile equipment safety inspections are performed prior to equipment use.  Ensure all appropriate safety inspections are completd and documented.
  • Maintain a high housekeeping standard around the alternative material storing and co-processing areas
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.  Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent (minimu)

Additional Education Preferred:  Associates degree.

Required Work Experience:  1 year minimum knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment, not necessarily cement related.

Knowledge of Excel, Word.  SAP is a plus

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
