ABOUT THE ROLE
Supports management accounting and financial operations of the US Cement terminal distribution network by ensuring compliance to internal controls, preparing the annual budget, analyzing monthly results, and supporting the operations team to deliver financial targets. Works closely with terminal managers, logistics management, plant controlers and finance management to develop, implement and coordinate accounting policies and practices to satisfy Sarbannes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Ensure compliance to established SOX internal controls for inventory and fixed asset processes at 80+ cement terminal locations. This will include rolling out standardized templates, training personnel on procedures and performing onsite process audits.
- Provides accurate and timely reporting of actual performance versus forecast and budget to management team. Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports, presenting findings, analyses and recommendations. Performs profitability reporting by terminal and source plant including detailed analysis of freight expenses.
- Assists Distribution Management with preparation of capital expenditure prosposals. Monitors active projects for progress to ensure timely closure and capitalization. Travels to terminal sites for audits of fixed assets.
- Performs the month end general accounting close for supported entities. Prepares journal entries. Includes review of account reconciliations for all appropriate balance sheet accounts.
- Determines and improves financial status by comparing and analyzing plans and forecasts with actual results including payroll, third-party services, and maintenance activities.
- Review and analyze regional financial results and identify areas for improvement. Assist in all Financial Planning activities with respect to monthly 18-month rolling forecast and Mid-Term plan.
- Analyze financial plan data to identify potential risks/opportunities and present findings along with proposed actions to senior management for review and decision making.
- Assist in the development of risk maps and functional plans. Assist in the preparation of monthly reports to regional management
- Analyze complex financial scenarios to provide detailed insight into business drivers and potential value creation opportunities; this may require gathering and interpreting of marketing, logistics, manufacturing, and system (SAP) data.
- Represent finance on cross functional/regional projects and initiatives. Support monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and GAAP. Ensure adherence to corporate policies, and regulatory compliance requirements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Accountancy or Finance
Required Work Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience
Required Training/Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree desired, MBA/CPA/CFA/CMA a plus
Required Computer and Software Skills: MS Office, Google suite, ERP
Travel Requirements: 30%

- Previous Financial Analysis experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Previous experience in Construction materials environment advantageous
- Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
- Strong computer skills, including spread sheet and database applications
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
