ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize is seeking a skilled and safety-oriented Electrician to join our team. The Electrician will be responsible for carrying out electrical and maintenance processes, as well as preventive maintenance (PM) inspections and corrective maintenance throughout the plant. The prime objective of this position is to ensure the integrity and reliability of all plant equipment via timely, planned, thorough, and consistent maintenance activities and inspections. All duties are performed in a work-safe manner, adhering to plant safety rules, while working effectively as a team member.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Support key safety initiatives and assist the department in improving EHS performance.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and code specifications.
  • Install, repair, and test electrical wiring, receptacles, lighting fixtures, and other components.
  • Maintain and repair switchgear, transformers, meters, and electrical motors.
  • Install and maintain instrumentation devices such as sensors, scales, and other devices.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and keep accurate maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with Foreman and other trades to complete projects and work orders efficiently.
  • Maintain assigned tools and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Diploma of Trades Training or equivalent (or relevant technical education)
Required Work Experience: Minimum 5 years as a certified tradesperson
Required Training/Certifications: Certified Journeyman Electrician –  Red Seal. Instrumentation Red Seal certification is beneficial.
Technical experience: SAP experience is beneficial


Additional Requirements:

  • Shift work is required; this includes nights and weekends
  • Must have minimum 5 years experience on industrial sites
  • Willing to work overtime as required
  • Aptitude for mathematics and ability to problem solve on complex electrical systems
  • Good eyesight and hand-eye coordination
  • Mechanical skills required
  • Strong verbal and listening communication skills
  • Ability to lift, push, pull upwards of 50lbs
  • Knowledge of lock out/tag out, working at heights, computerized systems, and inspection tools (e.g., Thermography)
  • Basic experience in process instrumentation will be an added advantage
  • Experience with PLC systems, Gas Analyzer and CEMS maintenance, and PM programs
  • Approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
