ABOUT THE ROLE
The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor’s prime objective is to coordinate and supervise mechanical or electrical maintenance activities to achieve the highest level of quality, safety and effectiveness to maximize equipment availability of plant equipment at the lowest optimum sustainable maintenance cost in compliance with OH&S and environmental rules and regulations, following the maintenance guidelines of the Cement Industrial Framework (iCIF) and Maintenance Management System (MAC).
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Contribute to the corrective maintenance task definition and weekly plan creation in collaboration with planning team, providing information about work sequence, duration and personnel required, quality check points and spare parts requirements
- Maintain accurate information about his team members availability and communicate this to the planners team.
- Coordinate with other departments and organize personnel for repairs as well as for big repairs and shutdowns.
- Assign his team members on a daily basis for work orders execution according with the weekly plan and review with the assigned resources the task specific risks and control the implementation of the risks mitigating actions agreed.
- Supervise the jobs execution and monitor the quality of execution.
- Monitor job duration, cost and performance of his/her crew and subcontractors working under his/her responsibility. Monitor and control overtime.
- Confirm work orders execution in SAP and provide feedback to the planning team about work order quality, spare parts and consumable utilization, actual work duration and resource utilization to support planning process improvement.
- Contribute to minimize the level of equipment failure rate providing through active involvement in Root Cause Analysis process
- Propose potential solutions to increase equipment lifetime and reliability.
- Record adjustment measurements / anomalies observed on the equipment during work execution or inspection.
- Supervise, train and develop direct reports to achieve department goals in a manner to create employee ownership;
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
Field of Study Preferred: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education / experience.
Required Work Experience: 5 years of maintenance experience in cement or similar heavy industry
Travel Requirements: 10%
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of cement production process
- Ability to work self-directed
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities and propose improvement actions.
