ABOUT THE ROLE
The Plant Controls Engineer works closely with the Plant Engineer to provide technical expertise for the development, design, and execution of capital, expense, and maintenance projects in a safe, profitable, timely, and efficient manner by performing the following responsibilities.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Develops, designs, performs cost estimation, justification, and prepares business cases for capital and expense projects.
- Evaluate, implement, and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of asphalt products, including supporting or leading trials.
- Equipment calibration and maintenance monitoring.
- Support the conversion of older-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations.
- Monitor and improve the efficiency, output, and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements, as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Field of Study Preferred: Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
Required Work Experience: Five to seven years of experience in a continuous manufacturing plant.
Travel Requirements: N/A
Additional Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge of controls and their impact on the equipment.
- Solid project management skills.
- Experience working with design software.
- Thorough and demonstrated understanding of process control systems.
- Understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
