ABOUT THE ROLE

The Warehouse Manager coordinates all Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Management operations in accordance with company objectives and customer requirements. The Warehouse Manager is a working manager expected to accomplish the following objectives: use Strategy Deployment and systematic continuous improvement techniques to drive better team Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost results; Grow a high-performance culture through intentional capability building and teammate engagement; Collaborate with customers and internal departments, as well as corporate Logistics, Planning, Sales, and other resources.

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Leadership

  • Direct the Warehouse team in the preparation and implementation of operating plans and strategies consistent with the business plan. The Warehouse Team consists of Shipping and Receiving teammates.
  • Actively support safety initiatives including, safety observations, safety audits, 5S, risk assessment, as well as near miss and incident investigation and remediation.
  • Manage the department with the appropriate communications of goals, performance feedback, corrective actions, rewards and recognition to provide optimum teammate relations.
  • Mentor supervisors and department lead to maximize capabilities in leadership, operations, and continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement

  • Learn, teach and drive LEAN Manufacturing using the FSBP Strategy Deployment framework and daily coaching in Gemba.
  • Use Visual Management to make problems obvious, identify actionable root causes, and develop corresponding action plans to reach desired operational performance.
  • Maintain the BEOS board. Monitor adherence to the Shipping Heijunka board and ST/LT
    boards.
  • Set and achieve operational cost reduction targets.
  • Understand and employ appropriate tools: 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, etc.

Customer Focus

  • Implement quality assurance strategies to ensure deliveries that arrive at our customers’ sites are correct, on time, and undamaged.
  • Proactively communicate to those impacted, either internally or externally, potential risks and actual deviations to planned schedules.
  • Enhance consistency and reliability of processes through working standard development, routine auditing, and effective teammate training.

Financial Management

  • Establish and meet annual expense budget for warehouse operations.
  • Plan the use of facilities, equipment, and personnel to meet current and future business requirements including department budgets and guidelines, plant layout and improvement, and capital and expenditure programs.
  • Identify causes of inventory inaccuracy and reduce them using a team root cause/ countermeasure process.
  • Ensure operating practices meet corporate and regulatory financial reporting standards.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 7 years of Manufacturing or Warehouse experience.
  • At least 5 years Manufacturing or Warehouse experience in a mid-level leadership role.
  • Lean Mfg/Six Sigma certificate and/or 3 years CI experience preferred.

 

Additional Requirements: 

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
