ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize, a leading supplier of quality construction building materials in the United States, has an immediate opening for a Fleet Maintenance Manager to support operations within our Ready Mix product line. The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and overall reliability of ready-mix trucks and mobile equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role manages technicians, schedules preventative maintenance, controls costs, and ensures compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, while also tracking equipment performance and coordinating repairs to minimize downtime and maintain consistent production.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of maintenance technicians, driving accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee all preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize fleet uptime and equipment reliability
  • Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues across ready-mix trucks and mobile equipment
  • Manage fleet maintenance budgets, control costs, and optimize parts inventory without compromising performance
  • Implement data-driven maintenance strategies using fleet management systems and performance metrics
  • Ensure full compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards, promoting a strong safety-first culture
  • Coordinate major repairs, rebuilds, and vendor services to minimize downtime and disruption to operations
  • Partner closely with operations leadership to align maintenance priorities with production and delivery goals
  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency, reduce breakdowns, and extend equipment life
  • Oversee asset tracking, lifecycle planning, and capital replacement strategies to support long-term operational success
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Field of Study Preferred:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Required Work Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing fleet maintenance operations for ready-mix trucks and mobile equipment in a heavy industrial environment
  • Travel Requirements:Travel between multiple plant, yard, or fleet operating sites in Maryland, DC and Virgina as needed
  • Proven leadership experience supervising and developing maintenance teams in an industrial environment
  • Advanced knowledge of ready-mix equipment (mixers, loaders, support vehicles) including diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Strong experience with fleet performance tracking, utilization, and lifecycle/asset management
  • Ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and drive effective, long-term repair solutions
  • Proficiency with fleet management systems and maintenance tracking software
  • Solid understanding of DOT, OSHA, and safety compliance requirements
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets, vendor partnerships, and parts inventory
    Strong coordination and communication skills to align maintenance with operations and delivery schedules
  • Strong coordination and communication skills to effectively partner with operations and dispatch teams to support production and delivery goals
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and asset tracking tools
  • Strong vendor management skills, including contract negotiation and performance oversight
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset


Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
