ABOUT THE ROLE
As a member of the Portable wash plant team, the Maintenance/Laborer is responsible for the daily maintenance activities for their specific area. The Maintenance position will execute the daily tasks required to maintain the conveyors, crushers, screens, wash plants and related mobile equipment in accordance with Amrize’s Best Practices and Policies. The incumbent will implement internal processes and controls to drive maintenance efficiency and cost optimization while ensuring worker/contractor safety through compliance with Amrize and Provincial Safety legislation, policies and procedures. This position requires shift work (Days/Afternoons/Nights) and occasional weekend work. Travel is needed with reliable transportation as no transit service is available.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, subcontractors and suppliers to achieve “zero” safety incidents.
- Administer and promote safety policies and review procedures to ensure the site meets or exceeds all Amrize and Regulatory guidelines.
- Report and manage environmental spills to site management as they occur.
- Operate equipment effectively to minimize carbon footprint of machinery.
- Ensure equipment is operated according to original equipment manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
- Schedule and complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections for preventative maintenance.
- Perform adjustments, clean up, and repairs on equipment to ensure efficient operation.
- Perform general housekeeping tasks to ensure the site is presentable.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: High School Diploma.
- License: Valid Driver’s license.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in maintenance/laborer in the aggregate production field.
- Assets: Heavy equipment operation experience.
- Technical Skills: First Aid, WHMIS, Surface Miner training, Confined space training, and Working-at-heights training.
- Aptitude: Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform extensive manual labor tasks.
- Travel: Required as plant moves.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
