ABOUT THE ROLE

The Human Resources Manager (HRM) is responsible for the strategic human resource planning and strategies to support sustainable and profitable business operations with a focus on acting as a business partner. The incumbent will support the HR Director of the North East and Great Lakes region and line managers by identifying key HR issues and developing action plans to support the business objectives.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Demonstrate strong leadership, teamwork, customer focus, and operational support ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Support the HR Director through the implementation of HR strategies to assure appropriate employee resources are available to achieve planned results.
  • Oversee performance management activities—including development plans, appraisals, bonuses, staffing, training, engagement, compliance, and labor relations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and programs while advising client groups on HR matters to ensure consistency and best practices.
  • Analyze HR metrics, trends, and data to support evidence-based decisions and demonstrate the return on investment of HR initiatives.
  • Serve as an expert on company culture and the employee value proposition to foster a high-performance work environment.
  • Play a strategic role in change management by promoting employee and managerial buy-in and minimizing resistance to change.
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to identify training needs and help create or facilitate training programs.
  • Lead talent management to ensure the organization attracts, develops, and retains the right people while enhancing employee engagement.
  • Ensure legal compliance by applying relevant HR laws, conducting investigations, and representing the organization in hearings.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree; CHRP is an asset.
  • Field of Study: HR, LR, or industrial psychology preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive HR generalist experience
  • Language: Bilingualism in English and French is a requirement.
  • Technical Skills: Microsoft suite, Success Factors ERP, or other HR Information Systems.
  • Travel: 30%.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Solid technical HR expertise in compensation, benefits, and labor relations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of municipal, provincial, and national employment laws.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with influence and strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in leadership, project management, and organizational development.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
