ABOUT THE ROLE
Ready-mix plant Millwrighting involves the installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of stationary ReadyMix Plants across southwestern Ontario (approximately 10 Plants)
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Promotes a positive safety culture through leadership by example; performs all work activities following all relevant safety policies/procedures ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors.
- Required to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
- Responsible to install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
- Responsible to assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
- Direct hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
- Operate machine tools such as drills and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts; clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: High School (minimum), trade school/apprenticeship (preferred).
- Experience: 2-4 years in a maintenance role.
- Training/Certifications: Welding tickets an asset.
- Technical Skills: Excellent reading and writing skills.
- Travel Requirements: Within Southwestern Ontario.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work Overtime as needed.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
