ABOUT THE ROLE

The HSE Manager serves as the senior site authority and strategic advisor for Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security, owning all plant safety KPIs and initiatives. Operating within a 24/7
manufacturing environment, this role drives the execution of Amrize’s Safety Program by championing behavior-based safety systems, standardized processes, and emergency preparedness. By partnering
cross-functionally with plant leadership, Distribution Center teams, and Quality managers, the HSE Manager exercises independent judgment to integrate operational risk management and regulatory
compliance into long-term business objectives. Ultimately, this position is responsible for ensuring a safe, sustainable, and resilient workplace that seamlessly supports operational excellence and business continuity.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Ensures that the locations have effective policies, procedures, plans, systems, business practices, standards and controls in place to identify, assess, monitor and manage HSE risks and opportunities to comply with applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Ensures local policies and standards are aligned with the corporate Amrize standards & requirements.
  • The incumbent will ensure these standards & requirements are communicated, institutionalized & monitored via a regular auditing cadence.
  • Actively develops a route map to identify & eliminate risk via:
    • Reactive activities: in response to incidents, accidents & injuries
    • Preventative activities: ensuring the site is complaint with corporate Amrize standards and OSHA, MSHA or other regulatory bodies.
    • Proactive activities: utilizing risk assessments (area or task) to mine for risk and developing plans to mitigate.
  • Demonstrates a visible bias for action by taking initiative, collaborating with site leadership to make sound decisions and owns them moving forward.
  • Capable, comfortable & willing to engage & challenge all site stakeholders, as well as corporate support to ensure the health and safety of our site team remains paramount.

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelors/University Degree in the field of Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health or Related Technical Discipline.
  • 8+ years environmental, safety and health experience. Experience with ISO 14001 certification program.
    Industry Preference: Manufacturing and distribution 
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software. Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, changing environment, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
  • Demonstrates sound business judgment and the ability to grasp the complexities of a large business organization and the application of legal and regulatory requirements to the organization. Ability to comprehend law and regulation and judicial and regulatory interpretations of law and regulation.
  • High energy level and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
    Strong leadership and supervisory skills and the ability to work in an open and consultative manner with others.
  • Strong oral/written communication skills with ability to be precise and direct in communicating to larger and smaller groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal (formal and informal) communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively and work in a cooperative manner with a range of individuals at all levels and within all functions and to effectively build strong teams.
  • Effective and demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

Additional Requirements:

  • Masters/Graduate degree (Preferred) in the field of Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health or Related Technical Discipline.
  • HSE related licenses, certifications (Certified Safety Professional) and/or membership in HSE
    professional associations desired.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
